The Colorado Rockies will hit the road this week for six games outside the division. After an abysmal 21-60 record on the road in 2014, the Rockies are off to a much better start in 2015. Their 9-12 record would equate to a 36-46 record on the road over a full season. Definitely not great, but certainly a significant improvement from where they were a year ago. In a bit of a schedule quirk, four out of the six games this week are day games as well. Here’s a look ahead at week eight.
Season record: 17-25 (5th in NL West, 8½ GB of LAD)
Number of games this week: Six (3 at Cincinnati Reds, 3 at Philadelphia Phillies)
Season record of this week’s opponents:
Cincinnati Reds: 18-25 (4th in NL Central, 9½ GB)
Philadelphia Phillies: 19-27 (4th in NL East, 8 GB)
Daily opponent and projected pitching match-up:
Thursday, May 28 – Day off
Sunday, May 31 – Colorado Rockies at Philadelphia Phillies (11:35 AM MDT)
